How to set up Two factor authentication
We spend so much time on Instagram building our account and then bam someone’s account gets hacked. I have no idea what enjoyment hackers get out of doing this but there are steps we can use to help protect our accounts.
Starting with ensuring we have Two Factor Authentication set up. Should anyone try to login to your account, Instagram will send you a text message with a code. This way you will know someone is attempting to and can change your password immediately.

STEP 1
Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner of your account.

Scroll down and click on the settings icon.

Scroll down and select privacy and security .

Scroll to the bottom and select Two-factor authentication .

Click get started

STEP 6
You have 2 choices for set up. For this guide i am going to show you how to set up text message. So select text message. .

STEP 7
When you set up your account it would have asked you for your phone number, Instagram will send you a 6 digit code to enter. .

STEP 8
Insert the 6 digit code that was sent via text message to you, then select next.
