How to change to an Instagram business page
Whether you’re an Instagram business or you are keen to grow your account swapping to a business account can be very beneficial. The main benefit is being able to see insights on your account and posts.
Insights show a number of things likes, comments, saves, shares, profile visits, website clicks, discovery, number of follows, how many people it reached, what age your audience are, what time your audience are on. This information is a vital tool to knowing what has worked and what hasn’t. If you would like to know what these insights mean then click here
The steps below are for people who have already set up an Instagram account and want to change to a business account. If you have not yet set up your account click here for a step by step guide to setting up your account.

STEP 1
Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner of your account.

Scroll down and click on account

Scroll down and select switch to business account.

STEP 4
Creating your account – click next .

STEP 5
You will need to select a business type. If you are a business then choose the one that is most relevant to you. If you are a personal account then I recommend choosing personal blog. .

Simply select next

Review your information and check it is correct. If you are a personal account and not a business I would recommend for security you remove your telephone number.

If you are business you can connect to your business Facebook account by selecting the page you want from the drop down menu. If you are advertising products on your Facebook and Instagram page this is a great tool. Your products can be added to a Facebook shop you can then sync them and tag them when posting to your Instagram grid and stories. If you are not a business skip this step. It often says it will then create a Facebook page for you. Don’t worry you do not need to use the Facebook page and none of your Facebook friends will see it.

STEP 9
If you have chosen not to link to a Facebook account this screen will appear. Simply select do not connect to Facebook now. You are now all set up. Your insights will take a few days to be available as Instagram needs to find the information on your future posts. For more on understanding insights click here .
